5/6/13 - Julio Cammarota on Critical Youth Studies and Democratizing Education

The Center for Collaborative Research for an Equitable California (CCREC), the Latin American Latino Studies (LALS) Department, and the Education Department are excited to host Professor Cammarota for a two day visit at the University of California, Santa Cruz on May 16th and 17th.  Julio Cammarota is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona (UA), director of the Anthropology and Education program at UA and founder of the Social Justice Education Project in Tuscon, Arizona.

4/23/13 - Tamejavi Culture & Art Series Presents: Hmong Culture Connection, Sunday, April 28th in Fresno

This gathering addresses a generation gap and provides an opportunity those outside the Hmong community to come and learn about it. The Hmong Acting Club and many other artists will present a theater play representing cross-generational issues, weddings, funerals, and other traditional rituals that are often restricted in the United States.

4/11/13 - CCREC Welcomes new Affiliate Dr. Erin Gaab

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Erin Gaab is a new CCREC Affiliate.  Dr. Erin Gaab is a postdoc working for the Health Sciences Research Institute (HSRI)at the University of California, Merced. Her mentors include Professor Paul Brown, Stergios Roussos and Trevor Hirst for the Health Sciences Research Institute. Dr. Roussos' research focuses on collaborative partnerships for community health improvement. Dr. Brown's primary focus is sustainable health systems through an economic lens.
