Research Interests: Data Mining and Visualization of Scientific and Socio-Economic Data, Geospatial Visualization, Uncertainty Computation and Visualization, Educational Innovation
My research focus has been on visualizing scientific and socio-economic data. My recent book titled “The Atlas of Global Inequalities” (jointly with Prof. Ben Crow) investigates global inequalities in multiple dimensions describing how inadequate health services, unsafe water, and barriers to education has hindered people’s ability to achieve their aspirations and live their lives to the full. I am currently working on examining the causality and linkages between cross-disciplinary variables that can lead to design of more integrative public policy initiatives on key issues facing California.
