Tara Yosso is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She earned her Ph.D. degree in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.  Her research and teaching draw on the frameworks of critical race and LatCrit theory, critical media literacy, and sociology of education to examine how race, gender, class, language, phenotype, accent, and immigrant status shape access to educational equity.
