About the Center

The Center for Collaborative Research for an Equitable California (CCREC) supports the formation of the field of engaged scholarship, putting ethics at the forefront of an inter/multi/trans-disciplinary approach to addressing the needs of aggrieved communities seeking to build a more just and democratic society.

CCREC partnerships and consultancies are tailored to specific projects whether at the local, regional, state, national, or international levels.

CCREC’s annual summer institutes are limited-enrollment experiences open to graduate students and early and mid-career engaged scholars as well as community partners. The institutes seek to support the development and strengthening of ethical justice-oriented research practices that link together knowledge production and knowledge mobilization. CCREC approaches to engaged research insure that truth-based public learning processes are designed to impact democratic deliberation, policy-making, and governance.
