Center for Justice, Tolerance and Community

The Center for Justice, Tolerance, and Community (CJTC) at UC Santa Cruz “focuses on issues of social and economic justice, dialogues across diversity, and the building of collaborative communities”. As a progressive, applied research institute, CJTC conducts innovative research with a commitment to both “public dissemination of research findings and collaborative partnerships with community-based organizations”. Some of the issues addressed by CJTC’s faculty affiliates are: “the roots of prejudice, the sources of economic inequality, and the obstacles to the building of community”.
