12/15/14 - Growing Food Connections - a food policy database

Growing Food Connections, a federally-funded research initiative to enhance food security while ensuring sustainable and economically viable agriculture and food production, has compiled over 100 policies governing issues their new searchable Food Policy Database. The database includes policies related to public investment in food systems, farmland protection, local food procurement and food policy council resolutions.

12/4/14 - "First Friday Shorts" presented by YouthUpRising & The New Parkway: youth driven and youth produced media, Fri. Dec. 5th, 6-8 pm, Oakland

On Friday December 5, from 6-8pm, Youth UpRising (YU) will partner with First Friday Shorts at The New Parkway in Oakland for a program of youth driven and youth produced media. The event is free and open to the public as part of The New Parkway's First Friday Shorts series.

Conceived by the Food Chain Workers Alliance, International Food Workers Week, Nov. 23-29 this year, is a week of events and actions designed to educate consumers about the many challenges facing food system workers from farm to fork—workers who participate in and shape the national food system.
