ROC Report: Ending Jim Crow in America's Restaurants

The Restauraunt Opportunities Centers United (ROC) recently issued a report titled, Ending Jim Crow in America‚Äôs Restaurants: Racial and Gender Occupational Segregation in the Restaurant Industry. The report publishes initial findings on the condition of restaurant workers in California, and in particular, the enduring inequities in wage and working conditions for restaurant workers of color.

Research assistance from CCREC fellow, Dr. Chris Benner, and a 2014 CCREC Seed Grant titled, Understanding and Addressing Racial Occupational Segregation in the Restaurant and Food Retail Industries helped to catalyze this important project.
