Alison Cohen, MPH, is a doctoral student in Epidemiology at University of California, Berkeley. She has a B.A. in Community Health and Education Studies from Brown University, and a Masters of Public Health in epidemiology and biostatistics from UC Berkeley. Her dissertation research examines the relationship between the quality of the educational experience and health outcomes in adolescence and adulthood. Alison has experience evaluating education and health programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, nationally, and internationally, as well as a history of community-based participatory research in environmental health and environmental justice. Committed to community-based, policy-relevant epidemiology, Alison is interested in links between education, health, the environment, and civic engagement, especially as these issues affect urban youth.
