Lynn Dombrowski is a Ph.D. candidate in the Informatics Department at the University of California, Irvine. Her research uses community-based participatory design methods within the domains of human-computer interaction and ubiquitous computing to explore how novel technologies might be designed and developed to contend with contemporary social issues. In her critical reflective interaction design research and practice, she explores the relationship of technology design, social change, and social justice to work alongside hunger-centric nonprofit organizations. Her dissertation investigates how notions of justice are implicated with sociotechnical based work and design with the aim of improving technical systems to support social justice causes. Previously, Dombrowski earned her M.S. at Indiana University in Informatics and her B.S. at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in Computer Informations Systems.
