Currently, a doctoral student in the World Cultures Interdisciplinary Ph.D. program at the University of California, Merced, Michael Eissinger continues to expand his archival and ethnographic work that focuses on more than a dozen historically African American rural settlements throughout California’s Great Central Valley. In addition to graduate teaching responsibilities at the University of California, Eissinger is also an adjunct faculty member at Fresno City College and lectures at other colleges and universities, teaching a wide array of classes including courses in African American, Chicano, and Native American History, Cultural Anthropology and Sociology, United States History, and Western Civilization.
